Tide & True Excursions Backwater Discovery Field Trip | Ages 10+

Join us for a 3-hour, boat-based Marine Discovery Field Day exploring the incredible ecosystem of Estero Bay! This hands-on elective course is designed for students ages 10+ and combines marine science, boating skills, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventure.

Students will learn about marine mammals and local shorebirds, practice mollusk and seashell identification, participate in a marine-life scavenger hunt, and receive an introduction to snorkeling and underwater exploration. Students will also develop basic boating and seamanship skills, including knot tying, boating safety, and how to identify and understand channel markers and navigational aids.

Led by a USCG Licensed Captain and Florida Master Naturalist, this field experience gives students the opportunity to learn outside the traditional classroom through observation, exploration, and hands-on activities in the unique waters of Southwest Florida.
