The Florida International Air Show "Jet, Set, Read" for a Free Ticket to the Air Show

The Jet-Set & Read program is a community literacy initiative designed to encourage school-aged children to explore aviation through books while earning free admission to the 2026 Florida International Air Show.Through the program's "Earn Your Wings Reading Challenge," local children who complete the aviation-themed reading goals can secure a free ticket to the main air show event, which takes place November 7–8, 2026, at the Punta Gorda Airport. The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Florida International Air Show, Charlotte County Community Services, and the Charlotte Community Foundation.

To launch the challenge, families can attend free, interactive kickoff events at local libraries featuring aviation activities and opportunities to meet real pilots.

How to Register: Steps to Register and Participate: Visit the library: Head to a Charlotte County library branch to sign up for the challenge and pick up your tracking materials.Read aviation books: School-aged children must read aviation-related books and track their progress. Earn free admission: Completing the challenge rewards the reader with a free admission ticket to the 2026 Florida International Air Show, happening November 7–8 at the Punta Gorda Airport

How the Challenge Works:

Attend a Kickoff or Visit a Library: Families can drop by a participating library to pick up an official reading log and book review worksheet. Read Aviation Books: Children choose and read books focused on flight, space, or aviation history. Redeem for Air Show Tickets: Once the challenge is complete, return the reading log to a Youth Services Librarian at any Charlotte County library location to receive the free air show admission pass?
